Privacy Policy
1. Our approach: computed on your device, stored in your account
BuyBox runs its analysis on your own device: the math is computed locally, not on our servers. Your properties, portfolio and assumptions are then saved to your BuyBox account so they are available on every device you sign in to, in the browser and in the desktop app. That data travels over an encrypted connection, is stored encrypted at rest, and is isolated to your account. Using BuyBox requires an account, and saved deals are stored in your account by default.
2. Information we collect
Account data: the email address you use to activate and license the Software. Billing data: handled entirely by our payment processor. We do not receive or store your card details. Launch waitlist: if you ask us to tell you when BuyBox launches, we store the email address you give us, your first name if you choose to add one, and which page you signed up from. To stop automated abuse of that form we also keep a one-way hashed identifier derived from your IP address; we do not store the address itself. We do not run advertising trackers or sell your personal information.
3. How we use information
To provide and license the Software, store your saved work encrypted in your account so it is available across the devices you sign in to, process your subscription through our payment processor, send essential service communications, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Third-party services
We rely on third-party providers for payment processing and sales tax, for the cloud infrastructure that stores your account data encrypted (for both the web and desktop apps), and for delivering the emails we send you. Each of them processes data under its own privacy policy; for the current list of providers, email [email protected]. Separately, if you connect a rent-estimate service in Settings using an API key you provide, that service processes what you send it under its own policy.
5. Data retention
Your data is retained while your account is active. To export or delete your data, or to delete your account entirely, email [email protected] and we will action the request. Waitlist entries are kept until launch and for a short period after it. Every email we send you carries a one-click unsubscribe link, which stops all further waitlist email immediately; to have the entry deleted rather than unsubscribed, email [email protected].

7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply industry-standard safeguards and minimize the data we collect.
